It is said that great personalities from the world of music and cinema have stayed in our rooms. One of them is the famous singer-songwriter Juan Gabriel, originally from Michoacán, who stayed for months in one of the rooms to compose his music. The staff that still works with us said that he was a very simple, kind and above all lonely person who looked for tranquility when coming to our hotel. It is also said that he bought a property in the center of Patzcuaro, which today is the Casa de la Real Aduana, located on Ponce de León Street.

Another celebrity who also stayed with us is María Félix, one of the most recognized and loved actresses in Mexico, considered one of the most beautiful women in Mexican cinema, also known as "La Doña", who participated in more than 40 films in the famous golden age, one of the best times for cinema in our country. One of the most famous films where he participated, filmed in the Lake of Patzcuaro and on the island of Janitzio was Maclovia, a romantic drama premiered in 1948.

Due to its long stays in our hotel and as a tribute to this beautiful and controversial actress, one of our honeymoon suites located in the colonial building bears her name, so if you want to spend your honeymoon with us, you have the option to stay in a beautiful and spacious room where this famous actress was staying.

Thanks to its colonial architecture, its extensive gardens and the terrace overlooking the lake of Patzcuaro, our installations have also been the scene of several telenovelas and films. Adding more anecdotes to the trajectory of our inn.
